La Tribu BBQ.

Overview
La Tribu BBQ is a smokehouse restaurant in Rincón, Puerto Rico, focused on low & slow smoked meats, cocktails, and a shared-table experience. They needed a landing that told their origin story (Taíno roots / barbacoa) and turned visits into reservations or direct contact.
I built a one-page Astro site with interactive islands for the menu and scroll storytelling, optimized for local SEO, mobile, and a clear journey: story → services → menu → contact.
Challenge
In a tourism destination like Rincón, visitors quickly look for location, hours, menu, and how to book. A generic site fails to convey the craft of a smokehouse or capture that intent.
We had to balance brand narrative (origin, fire, community) with performance, accessibility, and actionable CTAs (call, WhatsApp, reservation form).

Approach
I prioritized a static architecture, structured local SEO, and hospitality conversion:
- One-page landing with anchors (#sobre-nosotros, #servicios, #menu, #contacto) and call/WhatsApp CTAs.
- Schema.org Restaurant markup with Rincón address, geo, hours, email, and social profiles.
- Astro islands for storytelling (ScrollExpand) and an interactive menu (MenuFlipbook) without hydrating the whole page.
- On-page SEO focused on 'BBQ restaurant in Rincón' with meta, canonical, and Open Graph.
- Baseline accessibility: skip link, semantic structure, and cookie consent for compliance.
Solution
The final landing pairs BBQ storytelling with a direct conversion path:
- Hero with a local value prop ('BBQ restaurant in Rincón'), call CTA, and brand discovery path.
- About section with storytelling: Taíno roots, modern smokehouse, and Caribbean identity.
- Services across four pillars: artisan smokehouse, dining experience, cocktails, and shareable platters.
- Interactive flipbook menu so guests can browse the card without leaving the landing.
- Contact block with phone, email, address, hours, map, WhatsApp, and a reservation form.
Results
- Indexable digital presence with Restaurant schema ready for local discovery in Rincón.
- Smooth mobile experience via Astro static HTML and hydration only for menu/scroll pieces.
- Unified conversion channel: call, WhatsApp, form, and location in one flow.
- Clear brand narrative (fire, smoke, community) aligned with the culinary offer.
- Foundation ready for reputation (Google Reviews) and local hospitality campaigns.
Tech stack
Learnings
- For tourist-facing restaurants, menu + hours + WhatsApp/call convert better than generic blocks.
- Astro islands enable interactive pieces (flipbook/scroll) without bloating the full landing.
- Origin storytelling (Taíno / barbacoa) differentiates the brand beyond a plain dish directory.
